It is obvious that writing is an expression of some feelings, thoughts and experiences. Of course, we do not always write for somebody else. It could be also reasonable that we write to talk to ourselves. However, no matter who it is, we write to tell something. This is the beginning of our writing.

So why would it be good to know who we are writing for? I will make a connection between the answer of this question and our emotions, the status of our well-being.

I have read an article today. It was telling about what our emotions are. The writer hypotheses that our brains are the predictions machines. While they are predicting the next issues around us, they compose some mental status to prepare our body and our being against the things presumed to be happen. And these body status are called emotions (feelings when they are in the conscious level and named, by Damasio). In other word, it says that our brains give some signals to itself the brain and the whole body to prepare the entity against the things which are predicted as a future happenings (by brain, with the present and past memory information all together).

If we can combine the writing activity with the prediction preparation emotions, we can say that emotions are like the contents of our writings that tell our predictions for the future life issues related to us and people around us. In that context, to detect who to write can be a key factor to understand the information in our brains, and why we are writing. Therefore, this may help to comprehend, regulate, better what we try to understand and express.

For example, if we want to write an essay, to express our thoughts, our thoughts about the environmental values. And we want to express the thoughts to people around us. It could be our friends, relatives or the people who we do not know, but the ones who could be at the similar positions in the life with us (could be similar age, family status, social status or etc.). When we detect who we are writing for, we can decide on what sort of information we should use, what sort of language we ought to benefit from. While analyzing these needs, the information is shaped and ordered better in our minds. We see our lacking parts better. It also helps to express our emotions based on our predictions directed by the information we have (based on the whole experiences and knowledge we have).

The information we have that we want to express would not be separate from our emotions (which means that the arrangement status based on our predictions about the next life issues around us), and our emotions would not be separate from the people around who we want to reach to inform about the things coming through. As a result, it would help us to know who we want to inform. Then it would be so much better to transmit our knowledge to the others and get feedback from them. It would also interfere us to arrange our thoughts in a more ordered way.
